How much does 3D animation cost in the UAE?
Animation is priced per second of finished screen time, and that per-second rate swings enormously with complexity. Stylised 2D motion graphics sit at one end; photoreal 3D with characters, cloth, liquid or hair sits at the other, sometimes ten times higher per second. The practical lever is length: a disciplined 45-second film usually outperforms a loose 90-second one and costs roughly half. Send us a script or even a rough idea of the shots and we will price it per sequence so you can see where the money actually goes.
How long does a 60-second animated video take?
Typically eight to fourteen weeks for 3D, and four to six for 2D motion graphics. The schedule is front-loaded with script, storyboard, style frames and animatic — roughly a third of the timeline before a single final frame is produced. That front-loading is what protects the back end. Compressing it is the most common reason animation projects overrun.
What is the difference between 2D and 3D animation for our purpose?
Choose 2D when the subject is abstract — a service, a process, data, a set of ideas. It is faster, cheaper per second, and clearer for explanation. Choose 3D when the subject is a physical object or space that has to feel real: a product, a machine, a building, a vehicle. If you are unsure, the deciding question is whether the viewer needs to believe the thing exists in the world. If yes, 3D.
Do you use Unreal Engine?
Yes, and we were early to it — our MUM-T work was one of our first full Unreal productions. Real-time engines are transformative for long shots, iterative client review and anything interactive or event-driven, because you can move a camera and see the result immediately rather than waiting on a render. For single hero shots demanding absolute photorealism we still often choose an offline renderer. We pick per project and explain why.
Can you animate our existing CAD or product files?
Usually yes, and it saves real money. Send us your CAD, STEP or existing 3D files and we will assess them — engineering geometry generally needs retopologising and re-texturing for film use, but starting from accurate source beats modelling from photographs, and it guarantees the animation matches the actual product.
Can you produce a full animated series?
Yes. The Red Ape Family was written, designed, animated and finished end-to-end in-house, so we have run the whole episodic pipeline rather than just single films — bible, character design, rigging, episode boards, and the production tracking that makes a series schedule survive contact with reality.
Will we get the project files and 3D assets?
Ownership terms are set out in the quotation, and we are happy to deliver source scenes, models and rigs where you have commissioned them. We would encourage it — assets you own are assets you can reuse next year at a fraction of the cost. We build and document them with that in mind.
Can animation be added to footage we already have?
Yes, that is standard compositing work, though there is one important caveat: integrating CGI into existing footage is far easier when tracking data, lens information and lighting references were captured on the shoot. If the footage already exists we will assess it honestly and tell you whether a clean composite is achievable or whether a reshoot will look better.
